Depending on your definitions of “large” and “convertible,” I may be able to think of a couple others:  
Buick Cascada- not land-barge sized, but probably big enough for four in reasonable comfort.

Being a convertible is the only thing the Buick Cascada has going for it.
 
The Jeep is a solid choice. I wouldn’t mind borrowing one.
 
I think it’s a missed opportunity that Dodge hasn’t tried to make a convertible out of the Challenger yet.

I saw an old Chevelle body rusting in someone’s yard. At least, I think it was a Chevelle because there was a metal “Chevelle” badge in cursive on the lower right corner of the grill, though I can’t find any pictures of cars like that.
 
I thought it was a shame that nice body is going to rust to nothing in someone’s personal junkyard when it could be restored to something beautiful.

Add some pine trees, a lot more junk, make the buildings more dilapidated, and that’s fairly accurate.
 
I wouldn’t bother asking even if I wanted to. I know the kind of people who collect junk. They’re either hoarders or eternally planning to fix it up “one of these days.”

Not impossible but there are some key points:
 
1: There must not be ANY rust left or it’ll keep rusting (this is integral and is a prime reason why my Explorer’s hood hasn’t started rusting again.) Otherwise, with rust left over you’ll have it looking good for a few weeks or maybe a few months before it bleeds through the paint and shows.
 
2: You can’t use dissimilar metals or it will cause corrosion again.
 
3: Once you’re down to bare metal at least an inch farther than where the rust stops, you have to: de-grease it; make sure it’s clean and prime it with a very good coating such as 3 coats of Zinc Weld-Through Primer. Don’t leave the back side un-coated.
 
4: You can use panel bonding adhesive in cases of quarter panels but there are some instances (rocker panels, for one) when you must avoid it and weld instead.

At first I didn’t really like it, some part of me wanted it to look more like the mk4 Supra. (it’s starting to grow on me now though.) I’m not exactly a fan of the double bubble roof, but overall I think it has a pretty smooth and distinctive style.

The new Supra is ugly, the horsepower is barely improved over the original, it has a BMW engine and other BMW parts with risible reliability when Toyota/Lexus had everything they needed to make another Supra (unless you absolutely insist on a flat six), it has no manual option for the purists, and it’s yet another overpriced sports car as if we don’t already have enough of those.
 
In short, I think the new Supra is a complete failure.
 
The Supra is going to be a sales flop, then people will miss the point entirely and use it as an example of why sports cars don’t sell.

Mm, perhaps you’re right. The biggest hit for me really was hearing that there wouldn’t be any manual transmission option at all. I get how you feel though. I didn’t even think about reliability.

Part of me feels bad for ragging on the Supra because it’s a good thing that Toyota is trying to be more exciting. The problem is that they’re doing it all wrong. Angry origami styling without substance and a German sports car with a Japanese badge is not how you create excitement for your brand.
 
All Toyota had to do was create a car halfway between the 86 and the RC F: lightweight, attractive design, room for 2 6 foot adults to sit comfortably, a stout turbo 6, sharp handling, and a base price in the mid 30s.

That would be very unlikely. Don’t forget that Toyota have not produced an I6 in decades. Designing and producing a new engine from scratch is an expensive process which will jack up the price. Also every Supra before it had their MSRPs starting in the mid 40s (in 2019 dollars)

The Mustang GT (with a more powerful V8) starts at around $35k. I think that is a fair benchmark for price.
 
But you are right that developing a new engine is a very expensive endeavor. That’s why Toyota should have worked with what they had.

The whole point of a Supra is that you tune it, it doesn’t matter what comes stock. That said, yeah they should have their own engine in there, but I’m not *super* into cars, so it doesn’t bother me.
