Very cool. I can definitely see why he wouldn’t want to deal with a second windshield, and he probably wasn’t gaining too much with it anyway.

@SeraphimDawn
Nice. I think I probably prefer the look of the first generation MR2, though:

One thing that kind of blew my mind about these is their supercharger. You know that scene in Road Warrior where Max turns his supercharger on and off depending on whether he wants more power or to save gas? The scene that most people write off as mechanically impossible? The MR2 actually does that.

There’s a short “interview” about the AeroCivic (Mike, the owner, didn’t know he was being filmed) here:

Nice to know that Supercharger detail about the MR2, thank you.

With Flying Pancake’s comment in mind, that’s a nice looking custom job. I wonder, was it made from a Sedan or Wagon body?

I started working on the Suburban yesterday.

Day 1: Cleaning, done. Started claying with a clay disc on a polisher.

Day 2: Spent most of today claying (clay discs aren’t a complete replacement for clay bars) and compounding. There were obvious clearcoat scratches, now they’re much harder to find. Compounding’s not complete yet: the Roof, Passenger Side, Lower Areas (both sides) and most areas I couldn’t get with the polisher still have to be worked on. After that I can wax most areas, stopping around paint chips so I can fill them with paint with reference to Larry Kosilla (of the Ammo NYC Youtube channel) for this part. Once I’m done there I can finish all the wax.

There’s an automotive paint store nearby and they sell the exact color (not accounting for paint fading.) They sell touch up bottles with brushes for $15 and spraycans for $25.xx. I’ll buy a can some time, the rockers and lower quarter panels should be touched up. One panel needs replaced so I need it for that anyway.

Day 3 of Detailing: Finished compounding as well as I could, roof included. Didn’t compound below the trim. Waxed vehicle and cleaned windows. The rear window’s not getting as dirty now! Many once obvious scratches are gone.

I can appreciate older ones like this although I have no interest riding any.

@RainbowDash69

The paint fade isn’t so hard on this Suburban. Now, the 1984 Caprice has a problem with it.

I expect to thanks. :)

I’m beginning to see why a person might want cameras in a car seeing how many point in different directions. I also like the headlight washers and ability to operate power windows on either side of the rear seat.
