What's the highest price you would pay for a commission?

So, imagine a simple drawing of one of your OCs. Fully shaded, a simple background, and real cute.
 
How much would you pay for that?
 
Uh, no reason why I’m asking, totally not an artist posting anonymously so that I can improve my pricing without suspicion…

It would depend on the overall quality of the artwork, what the artist was willing to draw, art style, etc. The better the image, the more value there is to it, the more I’m willing to pay.
 
I believe the most I’ve paid for a single character commission was like $90.

I have, happily, paid several hundred dollars for an artist’s sketch, including driving hours to get to the place where we could meet, and hope to happily do that again in the future (although that was not in this fandom).
 

 
Depends on who it was by. If it was by an artist that I wanted to support, or by an artist who was seminal to my interest in the fandom, then I would probably only be limited by whatever was in my pocket or my ‘spendy monies’ piggy bank. I recently paid $250 for a drawing similar to that at a convention, but it wasn’t my OC.
 
However, I know that artists ask as little as $5 and often more like $120 for a drawing, depending on the artist, and as @Joey mentioned, $90 is more of a high water mark for me. The more expensive images I’ve gotten were “This is it for the year” style purchases, where on the other hand I might do a handful of $45 images from a bunch of artists at the same time.

I charge $5.00 per character. Unless it’s a NSFW then I charge $25.00 per character.
