Hello, my name is Timid.
I’m an artist and as you can guess from the title, I want to learn how to draw NSFW. If you look at my art, it’s mostly anthro because I’m more familiar with the human anatomy then pony anatomy even though I still use references. However, I struggle to draw ponies doing NSFW stuff because of their anatomy.
At least if I’m drawing human anatomy with no reference, I got a clear idea of where the different parts should be but with pony anatomy, I can only draw very basic poses like standing without failing.
Yes, I know you can say that my nsfw pony art still looks nice but it can sometimes takes waaaay too long to get a simple cowgirl position.
I just want to know how to practice the anatomy of a pony and to also practice sex positions with pony anatomy. I asked Braeburned on Tumblr how to practice NSFW and he said: “I think the hardest part is drawing two characters not only physically interacting, but angling all their parts to go in the other persons holes at the right angles. It’s way tougher than it seems! I think like with anything though, studying artists you like who do it well can be super helpful. Also it’s way easier to depict dicks doing things in general when you have a really good idea of the way cylinders work in 3D spaces; I see way too much porn where people don’t capture volume right and the dick just ends up looking extremely flat and things end up looking a lot less squishy and thick and real. I dunno. Get those studies in!”
As much as his advice is useful and now knowing what to do to get better, my problem is how to do that. I hope that other artists understand my problem and could help me. I’d appreciate it a lot thank you!
