use some random pony (or a changeling) as reference. Currently, i do that thing with my drawings (exclude some couple images). If that not allowed, then delete my post here.

This has caught my interests. I want to join in on this as well.  
I’m unsure if Reference Sheets are aloud as reference pics on this thread, but I’m going to take the risk anyway.  
Everything you need to know about this character as far as this goes has been put in to the sheet below.

Simply drawing inspiration from other artists is almost never a bad thing; feel free to use whatever references you like, as you might with any other piece. The only thing I’d outlaw in that regard is directly tracing someone else’s work. In fact, I’m adding that to the rules now.

So is there any rough time-frame we can expect this to start? Or just when you feel there’s enough people?

That’s something I was actually just thinking about a few hours ago. As of now, it’s been a little over ten days since my initial post; I’ll probably call it set at the two week mark.
 
Honestly, there’d probably be several more people signed up if I were openly advertising the event in some way, but I don’t find that to be necessary. The whole point of this thing is for people who are interested enough to seek it out. I’ll give it a couple more days, but we’ll probably end up with a tight-knit little group here, which is no problem in my book. ^^

So here’s my entry and some details about my OC.
 
Strong Runner is a stallion from Jamareca with a talent for barbering which is represented by his afro pick cutiemark. It also represents his somewhat chill attitude on life. Despite being a barber, he’s very talented in combat and quite strong for an Earth Pony. In his spare time, he does free running on the roofs of Ponyville and he likes to exercise in order to keep his fighting skills sharp. His favorite beverage is Kola Champagne. Currently, he’s living in Ponyville and is in the process of taking on an apprentice.

To those who have already submitted their trades, great stuff! Everyone’s submissions look awesome and I’m super happy to have set this up. To those who haven’t finished yet, no worries! This is a stress-free, deadline-free event; I’m sure I can speak for everyone when I say that we’re just excited to see the rest of the submissions when they’re ready!

So far it’s looking good.

Heh, unfortunately we have a few users who seem to ignore rule 4 religiously. Rest assured, their downvotes mean nothing other than feeding our red goddess~; you should always be proud of your work. ^^

See… Sadly I’m still working on the foreground. Thats whats causing me so much delay, because I hate the process, but I know it will look cool _hopefully, so I’m willing to do it. I haven’t even gotten around to designing the rest… _ I’m hoping to get it done next week since I’ll be on spring break
