Anthro faces are hard to draw.

Agreed . I tried doing an anthro pone and I failed doing the face

I mean, I can barely draw regular pony faces. Hell, I even struggle with human faces, and anthro faces are like a mix of the two.
 
This is the only time I’ve ever published an anthro pony drawing I’ve made. And that was nearly two years ago.

Well it’s hard to get a face shape right without it looking uncanny. Trust me, I’ve had the issue time and time again. Some stukes are easier to pull it off with, but you have to go through a lot of practice to find it.

I never anthro so I wouldnt kno. I’ll take your word for it.  
I mean, if you just followed the Disney / Looney Tunes style you’d get decent anthro faces, right?  
Or heck, maybe even Sonic style.

Not really something I draw, but I’ve found pony faces work okay on anthro.

Yeah that’s a good start. But it still does take time to find your own footing to get it right. But Disney, Warner, and HB could be good places to start when studying.

I’ll apologize for the excessive talking from sunbutt early on in the story, but I needed the background to make sense to someone who has no knowledge of the Warhammer 40k lore.

I see. I’ve never really been one to draw comics since no one really understands my handwriting unless I use print (which I hate) instead of cursive

Drew this a while back to practice lighting, a lot of the ponies with planes pictures I see make the characters too big or the aircraft too small. I tried to do more realistic sizes  
 
Even then, I think I made RD too big :P

There’s plenty of moth ponies but I don’t think anyone’s done a beetle pony yet…

I usually just go for the show style when i have to draw faces. but right now i’m trying to draw Spike with a different style, and it’s been tough.

There was an effort. Not my best quick doodle.
