Well, in the final film, the makers want to make history repeat itself by using a reference to the very first episode of “Friendship Is Magic”.” by letting Twilight transfer to CHS and become a Wondercolt.

Well i can see why the ending changed. The shadow blots are bland 1 dimensional antagonist with barely any lines in this movie no wonder twilight transfered as soon as she meet the nicest school ever. That or hasbro told them to change it.

Woah, the alternate ending is so different. Human Twilight doesn’t even transfer to CHS, she stays at CPA like I thought was going to happen. I can’t wait to hear the commentary.

Weird. I’m actually less bothered by the loss of the Homesick Shimmer subplot now that I’ve seen the whole thing. It seems like they had some good ideas there, but a lot of them clashed with each other and they weren’t quite able to make them come together as a coherent plot thread. Hopefully the team can pick up the pieces and make something great happen in Episode IV.
 
Oh, and changing the ending so that Sci-Twi transferred to CHS was the right call. She might be able to learn about the magic of friendship at Crystal Prep, but you know for a damn fact she still wants to study the magic of actual magic, which means she wants to be as close to Ground Zero as possible.

Not so much cut out as re-written. Pony Twilight shows up in the show, Sunset suffers from homesickness, and at the end Human Twilight returns to Crystal Prep to look for the magic of Friendship there.
