About a year later has really become really burned out on art/creative pursuits.

Yeah, surgery is the very definition of “not fun”.
At least the nurses seem to know this, because every time I’ve gone under the knife that’s when they were always at their nicest =) .
I’d get nervous because the anesthesia is a major “there’s a chance this might kill you, so sign this waiver please” factor. Also because when I wake up I will most likely be in either post-surgery pain or in a painkiller fog. Fortunately so far I haven’t had any non-dental surgery yet. (Because tbh surgery is something bordering on a phobia for me. Just getting a filling pushes me towards a panic attack. Nope nope nope.)
People were messing with you while you were unconscious? Seems kinda natural to be unnerved by, to me.
There’s something about waking up in a hospital bed that gets to me too. Maybe not as much as being put under, but it still feels pretty disconcerting.
They’re gonna screw up and you’re never going to wake up.
It is kinda awesome how it’s just kinda like future time travel, though.
