What’s annoying is searching for an image, especially to prevent a dupe, and not finding it because you didn’t think to search for one of the tags the mods deemed worthy of inclusion. These generally tend to be tags like “pinkie pie” and “meta”, which don’t exactly narrow it down.

Too many tags is a bad thing. It’s better to consolidate and have a more efficient system, then to just throw a whatever kind of tag you feel like on a picture.
 
It’s what made searching for pics on PB so annoying at times. There was no real tagging guideline except for tagging stuff as explicit, questionable, etc.

Well, me, for instance. You never know what someone is going to search, so we should make tags as broad as possible.

It’s not about more or fewer tags.  
Think about it, is someone really going to search for images based of the font used on them, I don’t think so, and that’s why it seem pointless to me.

Meh, I don’t see the harm. I tend to favor more tags over fewer, to enhance searchability.

Comic Sans has its own tag, and all the Calibri metas are by the same guy, so why not?
