Actually, I think Rainbow Bite may be a reference to Rainbow Brite.

We got a lot of older pics to label hilarious in hindsight, specifically the ones using those new bat pony name tags.

To be honest, a lot of those things you mentioned really got on my nerves as well, so I understand why you’d dislike the comics so much. I just personally find more things that I enjoy enough to make me mostly overlook the stuff that irritates me. Mostly. But to each their own!

I’m not going to harp on you for liking the comics I know they have a fanbase but I personally can’t stand them I really hate the western one with the minotaur trying to gain ownership of the town, The dear one, the chrysalis ones (the newest one did have some neat visuals), that king sombra one (even though it did have some interesting moments), the one where luna and spike try to solve arson crimes (man do I hate that one), any time Rarity shows up she’s a either a flirt or a shopaholic, Twi is completely inept and useless, do I even need to mention spike?
 
I do like the one with discord and the cmc but that’s about it my personal feelings for IDW is that most of there stuff sucks but every once in a while they have a pretty good one come out I can’t say this one was one of those times but this part was kinda funny and a little bit clever.

I’d have to disagree with you there, most of the IDW comics I’ve personally found to be entertaining. Granted, I have lower expectations of comics then I do for actual books/novels and movies and the like, but that doesn’t prevent me from enjoying them in the least, even during stupid arcs like this. Personally, the only two arcs I’ve thought to be really bad were the one with that Minotaur businessman one, and this one. The rest I’ve found to be perfectly enjoyable, even with some truly god-awful character decisions/writing.
 
TL,DR: They’re comics. I don’t have high expectations for them and just enjoy them for what they’re worth.

To be fair the first 4 issues, to less extent the nightmare rarity arc, a day in the life of big mac and how shining Armour hooked up with cadence where all good but then it went south fast and hard

You expected something different? IDW is pretty bad they have their moments (Though usually very small and very rarely) you shouldn’t get your hopes up on these things.

AJ, Rarity, and Pinkies names got a chuckle out of me, and while Twilights is far less amusing to me, I still get the joke, but Rainbow Bite? Seriously? Did they just give up at that point? I like the bat transformation thing, but the reason for it and this whole arc in general is just monumental levels of stupid. I’ve enjoyed the comics greatly ever since they started making them, and this arcs had a few amusing moments for me, but so far as a whole, this arc is hilariously bad.

Only Drinkie pie is good, because it sounds like something pinkie would actually think up herself.
