Tragic villains were always more interesting to me than heroes. For instance Naruto. Everyone hates Sasuke (i mean fandom) and i hate Naruto and like Sasuke. I posted that picture because this picture reminded me of him.

I feel in a way that makes him a more “realistic” villain in a way. Some people sadly do become “monsters,” because of things like that. (I’ve sadly even talked to people online who are like that…)
I like that irony that while you feel sorry for him, you also don’t want him to win, because he’s still a villain, and what he was doing was wrong. Kinda gives you mixed feelings on the villain, and I kinda like tragic villains like that who make you “think.”

I think the reason Electro didn’t feel watered-down was because of the clear mental instability that was shown to us prior to him even getting his powers. It was already obvious that something was deeply wrong with the man, gaining his powers only worsened his situation as opposed to improving it.

Instead of just making him all, “RAWR, I’M SO EVIL!”, they took an alternate route. His motivation wasn’t a desire for more power or anything stereotypically villainous, but instead was based entirely around his intense loneliness and isolation. The growing gap between himself and the rest of the people in the world destroys any sense of happiness or love that he could have possibly felt. It’s when people start fearing him and lashing out against him that he actually picks up his villain’s mantle.

Society hurt him and never let up on him. So he decided to do the same thing right back.

I kind of love and hate the movie for it. Electro really does break my heart.

Naw, I agree. Sandman felt kinda forced, and it was hard to tell when we were supposed to feel sorry for him, or when we were supposed to root against him, and such.
Electro was much better balanced, and he at least didn’t feel like a watered-down villain.

Seeing Rhino was fun, even if just for a peek.

But yeah, Electro was screwed from the start. In a way that I honestly couldn’t accept.

Also, another yeah, Sandman could have been handled better, especially considering how they actually intended to handle him. It’s like he was the beta version of what they did with Electro. They wanted us to feel sorry for him, but they didn’t try hard enough. It’s like they only got the right amount of sorrow once they actually hit Electro or something. Big bummer.

Or am I misguided?

Yeah, the villains kinda stole the show in the newest Spiderman movie. Man, Electro couldn’t catch a break, I couldn’t blame him for becoming a villain almost. I also liked seeing Rhino briefly during the end, even if it was odd he had a mech now.

I felt Sandman’s (SM3) was a li’l rushed, and the twist/retcon over the first movie’s events felt cheap.

True, very true. Still, Electro’s story really did suck.

In the good kind of way, mind you.

We got a lot of information, we saw his daily life, we watched him get screwed out of his own ingenious work involving a power grid that the city planners never could have dreamed of… and it was awful. Literally everything bad that could have happened to him happens to him. And that’s not even mentioning the fact that the guy already appeared to be mentally unstable.

He’s one of the best tragic villains I’ve seen in cinema in recent years.

I had fun with the film, though I admit, I enjoyed the villains more than I did Spiderman. But that’s just me, yo.

The Fluffiest

She was reclusive, but was trying to open up. Unintentionally she gets emotionally stabbed in the gut by what was clearly her best friend and possibly idol, so emotionally devastated she goes back to being reclusive.

She didn’t do anything wrong aside from mildly threatening Twi with the stick that twi gave her.
