If we have an episode that turns on Twilight screwing up a big spell, we’re also gonna need to get Spike being a slapstick victim while fscking everything up and Fluttershy cringing while learning to stand up for herself and Applejack talkin’ about family an’ apples and Pinkie gettin’ all up in errybody’s faces and Rarity learning to unclench and Rainbow Dash being an insecure blowhard. An’ that sumbitch better end with everypony standing around in a circle and laughing while the camera pulls away.

Now, there’s an idea for the “Evil Twilight” episode. (If they decide to have two Evil Twilight’s instead of just Midnight in FG. :T )

…How the heck would they do a Pony Pop! episode? Have the characters swapping accessories, manes, and tails like mad?
Ah man that’s easy. Have either a race swap episode or a random magic episode wherein the characters end up having theirs wings or horns swapped with each other (such as applejack getting Rainbow’s wings and complaining constantly at dash about them being uncontrollable or something with AJ running into things and her wings kind of acting on their own sometimes).
Simply use a new magical object or whatnot to explain it in the same vein as the mirror pool explaining too many pinkie pie’s plot, or heck you could even have twilight screw up a spell and cause the issues.
I’m still that one person that sees the toys as being above the show, like it always has been, and the show not relating to the toys is it’s own fault.
I don’t see that happening for a good number of the toys though, like the ponymania toys or the goth sets they did recently. Heck, they haven’t even done a Pony pop episode, and that’s a huge toyline!
Alot of the toys seem to be blatantly just random merch with no ties to the show.
@Background Pony #2561
derived from something in show
That may actually be the direction of this. It used to be that the toys (current and upcoming) unambiguously told the show where to go and what to toyetically do, but at this point in the merchandising game there’s no telling whether it’s the dog or the tail that’s doing the wagging; especially with Meghan’s recent promotion, Hasbro seems to be trying to integrate toylines and their supporting media more closely with each other.
Before it’s brought up, I will point out the thing with Skyla and Wild Rainbow. In other words, there’s no guarentee a line will have any correlation with the various animated mediums until it’s actually brought up in the listings or press releases.
It says toys. Why is there even any discussion on non-toy related things?
Because generally toy lines are derived from something in show, like rainbow power was an actual event in the show, and the Equestria girls toyline was a movie of the same name.
@Epicalaxy Master
I didn’t see anything in either of those episodes that wasn’t appropriate for younger viewers; even if it’s rare to have such action (TKp2) or social commentary (TCM) in children’s entertainment, it’s not unheard of.
Depends on the age you’re thinking of.
For a 4 or possibly 5 year old those episodes were a little dark and violent IMO. For a 7 year old, they’re perfect.
@thps48
I think alot of that has to do with what japan and what america consider appropriate for kids: look at all the censoring that gets done when anime gets brought over, or the massive amount of cursing in japanese kids shows.

Because people uncovered similar trademark filings related to “Equestria Girls” and “Rainbow Power” before Hasbro released any official information on them.
Nah, I think its the movie most probably.
I guess. I’m just curious as to what Guardians of Harmony is.
If EG is any indication, the Hasbro Corporation is very, very, very unpredictable. XD
Besides, there was Cutie Mark Magic already. Though Cutie Marl Magic didn’t seem to factor in so much.
If this line was part of the Season 5 finale, we’d have seen it in stores for Goddamn months. :P
Maybe it could have to do with S6 or the movie.

But Hasbro themselves making them?
blatantly just random merch with no ties to the show
Hasbro will grant a license to pretty much any company that meets its (secret, proprietary) criteria for guaranteed sales and trademark protection. There’s a huge amount of random junk.
And it’s not already easy to tie show elements with merchandise elements, or vice versa.
I don’t see that happening for a good number of the toys though, like the ponymania toys or the goth sets they did recently. Heck, they haven’t even done a Pony pop episode, and that’s a huge toyline!

I guess we’ll just have to wait for our ponies with some sort of guardian theme.

Are you implying fluttershy WON’T get butterfly wings in Equestria girls?!
ABSURD!
Because generally toy lines are derived from something in show, like rainbow power was an actual event in the show, and the Equestria girls toyline was a movie of the same name.
