It’s like blastification in the transformers toyline. When Hasbro can’t get a toy’s name, they just stick a nonsense word there.
Of course, this only applies to toys, for other media, such as books, comics, etc. a different trademark applies. Hence Sweetie Drops in the toyline, Bon Bon everywhere else.
Diamond Tiara is plenty girly, and they still stuck dazzle in her name. It’s just a dumb word used for trademarkings.
No, Bonbon is Sweetie Drop because her name is Sweetie Drop, Bonbon is a fan created name. I’ve not seen any official merch with Octavia Melody though, probably a similar story, she was called Melody first and they hashed the names together.
Daring Do is too generic of a name to trademark alone. It’s the same reason Bon Bon is Sweetie Drop and Octavia is Octavia Melody.
Hasbro own the name Daring Do, Hasbro can sell anything with that name on it, nobody else can, but Hasbro can.
They probably just put it in to make it more girly, thus going against ALL the work that has been put in to stop the obsession with girls having girly things.
I think it’s less that they got it wrong, more likely that Daring Do wouldn’t pass legal. Hasbro’s obsession with the word dazzle is still really baffling.
The line will have those five other marks on a mane six toy, and an indeterminate number on a background pony. Plus, a mix of their friends’ mane, tail, and coat colours in their mane, tail, and coat.
There are no brakes on the overtly-garrish train. ;D
Pony names don’t work that way.

I can see Daring Do visiting a tribe of jungle ponies and agreeing to wear the paint so that they accept her, that’s fairly usual for explorers and interpreters. Different cultures are different, different doesn’t mean wrong.
However, Hasbro, I cannot forgive that hat and I cannot forgive that you got her name wrong.
Jungle Camo!
More like she is related to Adagio Dazzle.
Also, WTF with all that color splashed on her.
