I think the translation is more than appropriate.
A Hitler version of the meme usually uses the phrase ‘Check aus mein Doppel!’
How’s that for a bad translation?… Also, that’s kind of the joke.
Und das Wort “Doppel” gibt es im Deutschen. Allerdings meistens im Zusammenhang mit Sportarten wie Badminton oder Tischtennis, oder ungebräuchlich für eine zweite Ausfertigung von etwas.
In the end when one wants to translate a phrase from one language to another and they find the language being translated to lacks a specefic word then one adapts that word into the language. In the case of “Check the dubs” you could get away with keeping “dubs” as it stands in English, at best you’d delegate it a noun and use it as such; the only question left is its gender I think.
But such a practice isn’t unheard of. But I doubt any where really applied to jokes or memes of this sort before in all due honesty.

It doesn’t make sense as a straight translation, we don’t have something like “dubs” or “doubles” in german, at least not in that kind of context, so going with an accent would make more sense.
“Check ze dubs”, simple as that.

But at least she’s kinda cute!

Putting the most Godawful excuses for German on Aryanne pics is tradition.

“Gib’ dir diese Endziffern” or something.
But yeah just stick with “Check ze dubs” or something haha

It says “Check the dubs”, but the german translation is bad.
Check your dubs, or something to that effect.
