They have more than one barn. There was a long thread where a minimum number for Apple family barns was determined, but I don’t know how to find it again.

…this must be a very new rule. That barn was flattened more times in one season than I think any structure ever has been within one year.

First thought: If Mayor Mare is the problem, she’s not gonna make the problem go away, right?  
Second, if you break down a barn to the point that every part has been replaced, is it the same barn? (Ancient thought experiment)

You know, the more they reveal about Equestrian law and such, the more I can’t help but feel it’s so broken. I mean, it’s really, really broken…What’s Celestia doing about this? I mean, she’s always been trying to remain close to her subjects and keep her happy. Are the cities and towns setting up their own laws, as little stations…Hmm, it seems to be implying that, to which makes ‘mayors’ kind of like dukes of principalities…..Then this is Mayor Mare’s doing then.
