I’m guessing Cteno is named after ctenophores, tentacled sea creatures that resemble jellyfish but are not related. The tentacles of some species are lined with cilia that look like the teeth of a comb, hence the name.
He lost intrest. At one point, he felt like he was forcing himself to be motivated to draw anything pony-related. Apparently, the pony art was simply a phase for him and now that phase is over.
Such a shame though, I liked the backstory of a prehistoric pony coming back to life.
Some people say he made Cteno pony-related in the first place and made the switch in order to make her merchandise popular, but I don’t believe any of that. I think most of that is just plain slander and lies.
I wonder if people check these things.

I will await administrator feedback before taking any action, but my suggestion is to abstain from Cteno-related content that isn’t also MLP related in an obvious way.Not happening. If I had to choose between this stuff staying here and all Cteno related material being deleted, well, I guess I’ll have to stick with the raptor.
For now, delete all non-pony cteno pics as the booru was intended to be, and then work from there. Nothing more.
They can. This isn’t pony Cteno though. This stop being a pony many months ago, specifically said by Slugbox, who did indeed joke it was now a raptor and then said all the previous backstory moot. In fact, try to look for anything pony related in the blog. I won’t actually wait, but you get my point, hopefully.
This stuff no longer belongs here, but bring all the pony Ctenos you can manage.

Now, this stuff, the clearly non-pony stuff? It has no business here, mostly because there is no pony involved.
And now I shall leave, since trying to have an anonymous debate on the internet is both futile and pointless.

In general, I don’t decry, hate, or even care abotu Cteno, but it really doesn’t belong within here anymore.
Not even the artist knows what exactly she is meant to be.
