No, I don’t believe that is what he said. He said that this was a “generic” ship, without mentioning “crack” shipping. Assuming he also dislikes them, he likely believes that some ships are not overused enough to be “generic”, but still make enough sense to not be “crack”.
Presumption of hypocrisy is easy, but not convincing.
