Description

Step 3
This step is pretty easy. After completing step 2 (see deviation) you move from colored pencils, to markers. On this step, I suggest using a makeup sponge, or your fingers if you feel confident enough to do so.
First step in step three is much like the first step in step two. Pick a dark color, such as dark pink as I used o firefly, and color in the shaded areas SPARRINGLY one at a time, even a quick swipe of the marker will go a long way. IMMEDIATELY after pulling the marker away, smudge and smear the marker to cover the desired area, being careful of the penned lineart area, which WILL smudge if your not careful. For practice, draw a circle in pen and color it in using the guidlines in step two. pick two colors of marker, like or unlike, and color one third of one side of the circle, and with your finger or sponge, smear it inward. DO the same to the ooposite side and look at how the colors blend together in the center. This will gove you a feel of how your mediums work for you. This will turn out different depending on your markers quality. I use cheapy stuff because I count on it smearing easily. As a helpful hint, wait a moment before coloring more for it to dry. The wax from the colored pencils make it easy for the inky marker color to glide across….in place, or right out of the lines and into other areas of the drawings, so be careful. The next step is to take a lighter color and color in the rest of the area desired, smearing it into the darker area. As I’ve said before, experiment witht his step on a picture you don’t care about.
YOu will see a difference in how smooth the color is, and the texture and tengibility of the picture. FOr an example, compare the above image to the step two drawing and see what I mean
try it out, alright? I’d love feedback to see how your own trials are turning out. Any questions?
