Yeah, having equipment other than a jacket and a gun that barely worked and were never told how to use.
And they didn’t torture them. Or chain them to the ground for weeks then thrown into the fight instantly. Or disregard their injuries. Or refused to give them food. Or turned down med-evacs. Or brought back those who were evacuated. Or put under the command of sadistic officers.
