Considering we haven’t seen all of the complaints that they got for that arc, I’m willing to cut them some slack when they needle their detractors, as long as they aren’t making the sweeping generalization that all the critics are like the worst of them.

“I mean, characters appearing on the cover but not in the actual comic story is practically an industry tradition.”

Which is a really bad tradition because most of the time it’s just an attempt to sell more comics with a legal form of false advertising by pretending certain characters would play a role in the story.

I don’t mind exclusive covers with stuff like Doctor Whooves fighting against Changelings or the the Mane Six in super hero costumes because it is rather obvious that these covers have nothing to do with the comic. The main cover of the Reflections arc, however, was really misleading. It implied that the evil Mane Six would be in the story and play an important role since they were right in front of everyone. A reasonable assumption considering that it seems to be a rule that characters visiting a Mirror Universe meet their evil counterparts.

And then they not only ignored the evil Mane Six in favor of the Celestia/Sombra love story, they also mocked the people who were hoping for a fight, or at least a interaction, between both groups of Mane Six. I’m not hating Mr. Price or Ms. Cook but the fourth part of Reflections was the frist comic on the main series I didn’t buy and from now on onward I’m a bit more wary about their stories.

Consider me one of those who disliked the duo before Reflections. I kinda enjoyed The Return of Queen Chrysalis, althought it had some mayor flaws here and there, with the second issue being not only the absolute worst comic but also the one that makes the whole story fall apart.
But even if I dislike them I enjoyed Rarity’s micro and Zen and the Art of Gazebo Repair (heck, I’m in love with Fleetfoot thanks to them). But then Neigh Anything came and I hated it, just for Luna’s micro to increase my hatred towards them.
That asides, with Reflections I did feel anger, I did feel disgust, but at least I said “They tried”. The story is a terrible mess, but compared to how lazily cliché Neigh Anything was, Reflections had lots of creative
ideas… That sadly weren’t explored at all.
About the show staff… I’ve never hold a grudge on any writer, not even Merriwether Williams (heck, I defend her episodes because I know she’s talented. In fact, she gave us pre-movie Spongebob!), but I do hate Andy and Katie because I can’t find them funny relaying on pop jokes and cameos/parodies.
