It’s Wrong To Like Ristar B–ch
Hey You!!!
Don’t play ecco or dynamite headdy if you’re highly sensitive
Why ristar would have elastic arms and I couldn’t get past the final boss
I like “Ristar.” :(
Answer.
Which Genesis Game?
Goddammit.
Actually, 2015.
Woah, is that… checking calendar Oh. 2014. I thought we traveled back in 1992.
Subtle username is subtle.
Any remixes of MLP songs done in video game soundfonts are always a joy to listen to.
Yeah, I don’t know why, either–this game was as big as Battletoads or Polybius back in the day.
It was on live and PSN for a little while, but then it got pulled before anyone could really buy it. Why, I don’t know.
Amazingly, the original arcade version only came out in Japan, even if based on an American cartoon. Even there, the number of Arcade cabinets produced was pretty limited. No wonder not many people know that the arcade version existed.
Smooze Man only appeared once briefly in the TV show in one ep’, so it’s surprising they used such an obscure character.
He apparently came from some character model sheets the show/movie makers gave the game developers, and they didn’t really research the show/movie much while making the game, and just needed a filler-boss monster, I guess.
Also, sense the CD version was in development first, (it took longer to make, which is why it came out later) and was more based on the “Rainbow Rocks” arcade game, (which also had Smooze instead of Trixie) it was actually Trixie who replaced Smooze Man in the SNES & Genesis versions.
Though, alot of fans don’t know there was an arcade game shortly before the home console versions, sense it was kinda obscure, and not as popular. (Dispite the better sound quality, graphics, and 4-player options.)
That was because the one with the Smooze boss was a beta version designed with an early cut of the film in mind; they didn’t think that Trixie would be so popular, let alone in the movie at all.
Didn’t the CD version have the Mode-7 level from the SNES version, and an extra level that wasn’t in either the SuperNES or Genesis/Megadrive versions?
Though, one thing some didn’t like about the Sega CD, & Turbo CD versions (which were pretty much the same version) was that they replaced fan-favorite Trixie with a different boss for some reason.
(Smooze Man who wasn’t even in the movie.)
@Lawful Girly
I think they give you those cheat codes depending on how many treasures you get at the end of the game. (Like in “Ristar.”)
