If the ponies were in the WH40K universe they could have been absorve by the Tau empire. Its pretty much the best outcome for ponykind.
 
The other factions would have them killed, purged, eating, raped or mindraped.

What about Kroots? Eating some ponies. Friendly diet.

One thing I will divulge from this story though, there is a scene where Twilight takes on a Chaos Warhound titan…..  
(She throws a chunk of ruined building at it with her magic to take it out).  
I’d love to see THAT get illustrated.

I haven’t uploaded it anywhere yet. If someone could provide me with a means to drop this somewhere I would, although it does lack descriptions and it needs tweaking a lot. One or two sections need a complete rewrite.
 
I’m considering doing this as a comic strip at some time, although the work involved in doing this is daunting.

You know what, this reminds me a bit of that anime about girls fighting with tanks….I’m putting my money on the Taus. (Though, the germans might surprise them.)

I’m still working on a 40k crossover story myself, although I haven’t done anything at it for a few weeks.  
It’s a bit different from the other crossover stories, in that the ponies go in to the 40k universe to retrieve an item, as opposed to every other story I’ve read where a ship lands in Equestria. (Or Chaos breaks through in to their realm as I read in one fanfic).

Not sure about Eldar. Matters about the craftworld and even then, they wouldn’t go to the world without a reason. (Unless they somehow managed to wind up in Equestria…You know, I don’t think there are any Eldar in Equestria stories. Someone needs to fix that.)
 
Though, I’ve seen plenty of Imperials in Equestria to last me a while.
 
You have a point there, which makes me wonder why people don’t make more of these. To my knowledge, their’s only one Tau in Equestria story up and going and one with Applejack living with the Tau. That’s it.

I think the problem is when the ponies are matched up with any other race from the 40k universe.  
The only other race that could theoretically work with them would be humans, (depending which faction they met with first), or possibly Eldar. Any of these races would most likely just use them as slave labor.  
Any other race would either totally ignore them (Necrons may not see them as a threat), or they’d just wipe them out.

Oh, I agree that ponies greatly resemble the Tau, lack of psykers (unicorns) aside. I meant they didn’t fit the 40k universe as a whole.

Actually, I think ponies would fit in well with the Tau. They both have a certain ideology of working together for the greater good. They both used to fight between the different ‘castes’ before something happened which brought them together. (The ethereals for the Tau, banding against the Windigos for the ponies.)

Well, seeing as it’s a crossover with a universe that ponies certainly wouldn’t fit in with I’m ok with the rules being bent a little. On the same note given how tough Applejack is I’d also be ok with her being Fire Caste.

Ponies and Tau. A winning combination that needs to happen way more.
