That’s certainly an interesting way of looking at her. I admit, I’m not very familiar with Canada and the differences between the territories, but it would be interesting to see that sort of comparison.

ironic-happening in the opposite way to what is expected, and typically causing wry amusement because of this.  
“Well, the voice for Applejack is Canadian, so…”  
“Kind of ironic how she is supposed to be a Southern character.”  
Applejack is portrayed as a southern personality in canon, but is seen here wearing Canadian (northern) colors. The definition of ironic fits just fine as far as I can see. If you don’t agree then I guess that’s just a difference of opinion. However, ultimately, Seraphim used the word right.
