What studio was it?
Armor rating?
Armor class*
That is a really good point.
When you have a definite niche interest like anthropomorphic art, it tends to attract a large number of artists whose enthusiasm faaaaar outpaces their ability, but it also tends to draw in the occasional artists who are frankly astounding.
The thing is, most anthro I find is pretty shit. So when I see something really good like this, I really have to applaud the artist.
Then again, most of Atryl’s anthro is good.
It is pretty impressive, huh, when something can make you like an example of a genre you don’t care for. When you get right down to it, that’s kindasorta the heart of this fandom.
We’ve been over this already. See @The Smiling Pony and the ‘Lastly’ section in @Brokedownandmadeone
And yet your name is in German.
You realize what the Nightmare Moon in PL’s badge list means, right?
El Jefe logs in as The Smiling Pony– notice the lack of – when he’s farting around in the forums and comment sections like the rest of us helots, to head off accusations of trying to swing his authority to shut down anyone arguing against him; he logs in as The Frowning Pony if he’s being a Mod about it.
Sometimes he needs to be reminded about these things.
You realize your boss is a part of this, yes?
Whoops I mean 0.056T
3: Metric and Imperial accuracy to me depend on which units you’re using. For example where you blokes’d use inches, we’re using centimetres, or even millimetres (both have greater accuracy than inches). Admittedly your feet would be more accurate than our metre, at least to begin with. If we’re between metres though, we’ll add millimetres to it and then we’re more accurate than your feet/inches. Millimetres is actually the standard metric measurement used in industry. Even your thou is not as accurate as Micrometres.
6: Saying people won’t use it because it doesn’t round nicely is a moot point really. I can say I don’t wanna use Imperial because 180cm=5.90551181ft. Now how the hell am I supposed to work out inches from that? If that’s 5.90551181m though, I know straight away that’s 5905.1181mm or 5905118.1μm.
Once you know the SI unit for that measurement, and the prefixes, you know all variations on that unit. Say you need to use 23μWb in a formula. What is it? Just 23x10^-6Wb or 0.000023Wb. 56mT? 56x10^-3T or 0.000056T. Don’t even need to know what the units are for (Weber (Wb) = Flux, Tesla (T) = flux density) and you can still calculate them.
All of Atryl’s anthros are delicious, but the lighting on this one really makes it special; that glow from her eyes under her bangs and the halo around her lower body from her mane and tail are truly magnificent.
@Lawful Girly
You could’ve tried to argue separate points on why it would’ve caused car accidents if it were done on live roads.
a) Speed: This could be a problem. Since 1 mile an hour is equal to 1.61~ km pan hour, the conversion for people would be arduous. But, the km/h is already built into the speedometer of some cars alongside m/h.
b) Distance: This is much less of an issue, as distances traveled by vehicles are usually measured by ETA instead of length. As for warning or ‘x’ miles/feet ahead signs, we still have our eyes, don’t we?
c) Cost: This has nothing to do with accidents, but it would be a consequence of switching to metric. Here’s a big glaring problem. The cost of changing the millions of signs on every road would be extremely high.
Lastly, your last statement brought nothing to the debate and is another false cause, but here’s a rebuttal anyway. The U.S. ranks behind in many international ranking categories. What are we doing right?
And while we are both guilty of the black and white fallacy, you have commited several of them. Try to bring more to the table next time, instead of just typing up a quick reply.
P.S. After being informed further by reading and discussion, I’ve found out many things I didn’t know about or think about. Both systems have their flaws and benefits, and both are used in society one way or another internationally. Metric is already being used in the areas that it needs to be used, namely science. But it could definitely use much more exposure in schools to help students learn it better and have it stick, to better prepare them for science and hopefully, produce more scientists and medical professionals.
Okay, I think I’m done.
A sparky I work with was telling me about an American chick he knew was moving to Australia and her father asked her “Why go there? It’s practically a third world country!”
Yeah, you blokes do have a bit of an ego sometimes. It’s refreshing to see a Yank who knows the truth.
I’m far more interested in her Princess making hips.
