SoarinDash has much less of a hatedom than FlashLight because Soarin is a much more inoffensive character. Not that it is a popular ship or anything, but people don’t have the same loathing for it, probably because Soarin is an okay dude.
What I meant was you and that background pony were right about what you said about the lesbian tag not being needed for this image.
What? I wasn’t saying the tag shouldn’t exist. It really is useful for the tagging system. I was complaining how this picture was tagged “lesbian” even though there’s nothing supporting romantic interaction between these two in this picture. Same way I’d protest someone putting “Trollestia” on a picture of Celestia making a joke, I’m saying someone is seeing something that simply isn’t there.
You and Poptard are right to say that the lesbian tag is not needed. But have you thought about this site’s tagging system?

Flashlight has nearly canonic arguments for its existance. Soarindash is totally fandom’s invention based on some real or imaginary similarities - in real world it works like shipping Putin with Merkel or Obama with Rice… etc.

So, you’re agreeing that FlashLight is a logical, popular, and adorable ship. It works because Soarin’ and Dash show similar enthusiasm to flying and athleticism, Soarin’s laid-back and experienced personality is a perfect supplement to Dash’s hot-headed and excitable one, and because of how stoked Rainbow would be at dating one of her idols. I’m so glad we can agree on this matter!
The order they arose in doesn’t matter to the comparison, but if you really want, I guess we could call FlashLight the SoarinDash of Twilight ships. My point remains the same.
