that and when one guy takes a bunch of women, you end up with a bunch of unhappy, sex-deprived single males. what we really need is more polyandry, not less polyamory.

It’s not that we have a limited supply of romantic love, it’s that we don’t do quite so well when trying to love more than one, or being part of a relationship where one partner loves more than one. Think about it, in that situation you have to juggle 3(at minimum) poodles needed at once. there’s also the possibility of favoritism, in that someone might widen up loving one more than the other(s), or one might they they love the other more. I not trying to say polyamory is bad, I’m just saying it tends to be less stable, with the stability decreasing the more people are involved. It’s like trying to juggle balls that have a tendency to move in the air on there own

The best relationships are those of a single person. Just yourself! Who knows you better? Who gets you better? Who likes ALL the things you like? No-one else but yourself!.. Oh God I am so alone.
 
But it is such a stupid myth that people only have a limited supply of love, only enough for one person. Even if we don’t mean to, most people DO love quite a good few people at once. We’re taught to never act on it though, and to feel ashamed of it. We are made to feel like bad people, for loving others. It’s more than a tad absurd, and yet no-one bothers to question it.

I’m sure that’s true for you, probably for me as well, and probably for most people. But others out there do prefer it and make it work.
