Welp.. this is it.
It’s time for me to go.
Adios
-perishes from cuteness-
Well, I should add it is unusual, I just meant it’s sadly not uncommon when it comes to the “fandumb” side of the “fandom.”
Though, I’m still not sure if he’s a troll. Sadly there really are people as crazy as that on the internet. Seeing how he goes through the trouble to make fanart of it, bashing people like Meghan’s ponysona for “hating Spike,” and such, I think he might be serious with his rantings…
Like I said there are Sonic fans who accuse Ian Flynn, and such of hating their favorite characters for silly reasons, so it’s not unusual.
I feel a pang every time I hear someone say “There aren’t as many Flutterfanatics as there once were”, not only because of my earlier point about exaggeration, but also because I actually kind of miss the days when people would, in a comically inflated fashion, pronounce the pain of a thousand deaths upon any who would make Fluttershy cry. I always thought that kind of thing was amusing, since it was nearly always a joke anyway.
Of course,guys like the Spike troll are a different story. Maybe he just gets a kick out of making everyone think he’s a lunatic.
This is only somewhat related, but I rarely think any good can come of complaining to the creators of the show about stuff. That’s what started the Derpy fiasco, and more recently, Twitter has been a medium for nutty ravings just because pony Flash had a lousy cameo. People really should avoid annoying those who make the stuff they like, if they can help it.
@MGB_GT
Yeah, I understand fan-fanaticsm can go both ways, and as I said, you don’t see many Flutter-fanatics as you used to. Some fans just get to overly-protective of their fav’ characters.
(Especially, that crazed Spike fan who keeps accusing Meghan & the staff of hating Spike…)
It’s not even exclusive to this fandom, Ian Flynn, writer of the official Sonic comic sense 2006 gets accused of hating several Sonic characters to, (if anything happens to them in the comic) when he doesn’t.
You’re telling me. I recall back in the day people played with the idea of sending in the troops if the darling so much as stood on a thumbtack. Now they seemed to have moved on. One image that was mocking the fluttershy vs Gildas scene with iron will rhyming had more comments from the anti group. So a comic made just them “mad” make of that what you will.
The proposed crucifixions to which you refer have always been exaggerated by anti-Fluttershy fans, if you ask me. I’ve spent enough time explaining why Gilda sucks (and Pinkie does too at times), but I don’t think my expressions are generally over the top.
But you should see some of the insults that have been hurled my way for making any such comments. Heck, I’ve been called names just for having mostly Fluttershy in my favorites.
@Background Pony #4269
That moment seemed like more of a breif “take-that” to the more “rabid/protective” Fluttershy fans. (Like the ones who want to crucify Gilda for being mean to her, or Pinkie for unintentionally upsetting Fluttershy in “Filli Vanilli” and such.)
Though, I don’t see many of them lately.
(Worst I saw recently was that “Spike Justice Warrior” guy constantly pestering Meghan McCarthy on Twitter, and accusing her, and all the staff of hating Spike…)
Nothing creeps you out like a smiling stone-face.
Some people are silly jerks.
Consider who you’re arguing with.
@Background Pony #4204
At the time, I just put that down to writers not thinking about the fact that Spitfire could join in since setting a record was out of the question. After “Rainbow Falls”, though, it’s pretty well established that the writers viewed Spitfire as a jerk.
Twilight stated pretty clearly that they wouldn’t be able to break the record, and they were at risk of not even forming the tornado properly at all. Any concerns about Spitfire helping them should have flown out the window entirely at that point.
Anyway, that’s not important. This comic’s adorableness is all that matters.
But it’s the internet so the only thing that grows is the text count.
As far as Spitfire not joining in I think Ponyville was trying to break a record. The Wonderbolts are based in Canterlot I think. Maybe she wasn’t allowed of the record they were focused on would have been invalidated? It’s been a long time since I’ve seen the earlier episodes so I could be sketchy on the details.
<3 Love the picture.
And you apparently have no clue what the real reason for that was. Come back when you find one.
