My thought, going off D&D, would be Argent Savant, a prestige class that focuses on force effects.

Well I know Ardent, as of D&D 4.0, Is a Psionic character class based on the manipulation of emotions to buff/heal allies and weaken enemies. Things like-  
Transmitting a feeling of righteous anger to your allies to help their blades strike true  
or  
Tapping into your enemy’s deepest fears in order to weaken their resolve.
 
Personally, I woulda gone with Swordmage, being… well… pretty self explanatory, but I suppose ardent can have many meanings in many settings.
