Google won’t always give you the info you’re looking for, as in which meaning the group you’re in is using. For example, by hilarious coincidence, MILF happened to be the name of a former terrorist group who’re trying to go straight. That definition came up a lot when I first tried to find out what it meant, so I was stuck wondering if a lot of people were somehow interested in Asian regional politics.
 
Also, just because the fandom knows doesn’t automatically mean the show staff knows. Heck, one of the weirdest examples is Peter Cullen (AKA Optimus Prime) having no idea Optimus had basically been a father figure to countless kids back in the 80s.

Depends on how seriously you take it. For a lot of people, it’s just a funny thing, or, at most, a “If she was real, then yeah, I totally would, but…”
 
Now, that said, some people kind of get creepy about it. If you actually, literally think you’re in a relationship with them, and you turn down relationships with real people because of it, then that’s another story.

Depends, it can also be a term for the “subservient supporting female character” archetype.

It’s nothing you need to worry about Meghan. Just keep developing those relationships.
