“Oh yeah, let’s see you comprehend crossing a lake!” Lighting Dust shot back as she gave him an evil, confident grin when she saw Sonic face grow with concern. “Knew that would shut you up, you blue freak! At the end of the day, no matter how fast you run you’re still nothing! No wings, no magic, you’re no better than a filthy mud pony!” Dash gasped slightly at the racial slur, which did not go unnoticed by Sonic as he registered the insult as well. Lighting Dust laughed as she rocketed forward with Dash hot on her tail as Sonic screeched to a halt at the bend in the road which would have him take the long way across.
 
Looking back at Sonic’s standing figure shrinking in the distance, Lightning felt the rush of victory wash over her. However pride was replaced with shock and bewilderment as she saw a ripple of blue burst across the ground that was accompanied by a deafening boom that filled the air and she witnessed the water on the surface of the lake fly high into the air in a blistering wake caused by the hedgehog. She couldn’t believe her eyes, but her confusion quickly turned to rage as Sonic pulled alongside her once again. The blue speedster’s legs where a blur of red once more as he managed to move them at such a pace he was able to find footing on the water before the surface tension was able to break as Rainbow Dash let out a cheer that her friend had managed to one-up her again.
 
“You know, at first you annoyed me, then you started to piss me off,” Sonic said, his face now angry as he stared daggers back at Lightning Dust, “Now I just plain old-fashioned don’t like you.”

We all know Sonic is gonna win, c’mon Sonic!!

Sonic and Lightning are actually doing the racing; RD is just squeeing so hard at the awesome speed that she felt she needed to get a close look.

Now, that’s Sonic the way I remember him. Radical.
