This post is old but I’m commenting anyway~ part of the “vampires don’t have reflections” thing is because mirrors once had silver in them, the purity of which denied the reflection and modern mirrors are no longer made this way

Eh, vampire bats do. She was transformed by magic, sure, but into absorbing the traits of these specific vampire bats, not simply into a generic vampire.

‘were’ means ‘man’, so that’s not the correct term. It would be * checks Google translate * … elephantus? No, let’s go with Equis for the prefix. An Equibat. Actually, a Equiroptera, as Chiroptera and Megachiroptera are the terms for bats and big effing bats.

Hey, we’ve got a new term! the pony equivalent of a werebat is a Equiroptera! Spread the news!

Fluttershy has involuntary nightly shapeshifting, feral behavior, and no memory of the incident. Aren’t these signs of lycanthropy rather than vampirism?

Actually, the reason they didn’t have reflections in Bram Stoker’s lore is because they had given up their true selves, which could be interpreted as their souls, when they had died and been brought back.
So, just like lawyers, the question of them having souls or not is up in the air, but the reflections are based on the individual lore that created the vampire. In fact,t he original vampires, the nosferatu of older myths, did have reflections; they also brought back ghouls from a single bite, like zombie masters, and could turn any of those ghouls into another vampire by feeding it blood. Meanwhile, the ghouls where simply dangerous, fast, hideous creatures like their sires, and they hunted by tearing humans and livestock to bloody shreds, which their master would then eat.
The question of them having souls wasn’t really ever brought up, probably because they are Deader than Dead, but they might or might not. Also, they had reflections, and couldn’t go into the daylight because it burned their senses, not their flesh. It was holy ground/water that stripped the flesh from their bones, but their mere presence wore away at such sactities, so it wasn’t a long-term viable safeguard.

Rocks have reflections, so by your logic, they have souls. Visible gases must have souls too. Plastic flowers, clocks, dead leaves, even lawyers all have reflections.

Only some vampires don’t have reflections, as has been stated repeatedly before in the comments.
It depends on the particular vampire’s origins and type, as some quite pointedly do have reflections, and make use of them in interesting ways. Such as mirror-clone dummies of themselves to prevent daytime assassinations.

OP is a duck. Specifically, a vampire duck who’d benefit from this current uncertainty about vampire characteristics.
