To be honest, I think the show is more cartoonish, then anime-ish, (despite the “magical anime girl” vibe) considering there haven’t been many anime-ish visual gags in the show, and the visual gags have been more like American cartoons. Like Twilight having an anvil dropped on her head, and such.
