Ben Bates is a pretty good artist, I can’t believe some schmuck recently went to his DA page, and insulted his art…  
He used profanity, and stated Ben draws Sonic characters like “overglorified stick-figures.” (Isn’t that how Sonic characters are supposed to kinda look, with the long skinny limbs, and such?) He even claimed Harvo was a better artist for the official Sonic comic.  
I have to say …I strongly disagree. I prefer Bates & Yardley.

Ya I know it will never happen but it’s fun to imagine the possibilities. Link mechanical or robotzied versions of the ponies. Or willy some how convincing Celestia he has nothing to with this until he pulls a… Well a Dr.Willy actually.
 
Also I missed those micros so I had no clue Bates did them now I got to go find those issues.

It’ll never happen, but it would be amusing. Especially, watching both MLP-fans & Sonic-fans getting upset, and going “No not Sonic in my ponies!” or “No not Ponies in my Sonic!”
 
Y’know, Ben Bates an artist for both Sonic & Megaman’s comic series drew the Pinkie Pie & CMC micro-series comics. He also did IDW’s TMNT, as well.

If done right it would be a very fun crossover story. Thought the challenge of getting IDW,Archie,Sega,Capcaom and Hasbro all to work together would take a lot of doing.
 
But the mental image I have of what the Blue Bomber and the Blue Blur would look like in  
Andy Price’s art style makes me wish it would happen.

Wily was responsible for the entire X and Zero series based on the sole fact that he created the Maverick Virus and Zero.
 
Copy X was not Light’s fault. It was Ciel’s because she created him without any knowledge that Light had in creating the original X.

Good lord imagine if the mane 6 were sucked into this comic?

Wait, what’s that supposed to mean? Wily was a pretty stand-up guy. He had little to no influence on the events of the ZERO series other than having created Zero in the first place, and while he is largely involved of the cause of the Irregular Wars due to his creation of the Virus, he was not, in fact, the sole cause of Irregulars existing - that was Light’s contribution to the War.
 
Basically Wily and Light share equal fault in the way that the Irregular Wars went down. Hell, the tyranny of Copy-X in the ZERO series is even entirely Light’s fault since he created an overpowered Messiah-bot that required thirty years of morality-testing to prevent it from going nutso like Copy-X did.

I enjoy that as well. And it works quite for him.  
You got Eggman who comes up with some of the goofest ideas and plans. But you also have shades of Julian Ivo Robotnik a man who can be so evil that even Willy thinks he goes to far.
 
And considering Willy’s influences on the Megaman X and Z series that’s saying something.

What I like about how Ian writes Eggman is, he makes him a combination of the goofier/sillier aspects of the character, and the darker/evil aspects, as well. So he has both Robotnik’s silly & evil aspects combined, while still retaining familiar elements of both older, and newer versions of the character.

Ian and his team have been doing great. Course they have been having an uphill clime after many years of inconstant writing and now they got to throw out all the character realignment,back-story fixing, ect right out the window.
 
I think one of the best things Ian did was bring Eggman back out of the years of villain decay he had.
 
There was that one monument when Snively went to mock what he was a still crazy Eggman.
 
And well…  
I swear at that monument voice reading off eggman lines in my mind the went straight from Mike Pollock to SatAM Jim Cummings. And it was great.
 
I hope they keep Eggman as an actual threat now with reboot. Thou all the games have happened in the new timeline(up to sonic colors) so I can’t be to sure if they will.

I know, that’s what I told that guy who was angry/upset about it. He, and alot of other Sonic fans are wrongfully blaming writer Ian Flynn, when Ian had NOTHING to do with the Penders’ legal case. If Ken didn’t go all “MY CHARACTER DO NOT STEAL” over being butthurt over the “Sonic Chronicles” game subtle-y referencing his comics, (with the similarity between the game’s Dark Brotherhood, with the comics’ “Dark echidna Legion” which the developers stated was meant as an homage to the comics) we would still have all his characters, and stuff in the comic, and he wouldn’t care… (Oddly, Ken’s trying to get his own echidna comic going called the “Lara-Su Chronicles…)
 
Oh well, we still have the SatA.M., and game characters in the comic, at least.
 
And yeah… Ken probably ruined any chance of a “Sonic Chronicles” RPG sequel… (That, and EA buying off Bioware…)
 
I actually feel sorry for Ian Flynn, (he’s actually a nice/cool guy from my experiences) I always see Sonic fans bashing him on DA… (Though, apparently most other Sonic fans feel he “saved” the comics, and the comics are selling “very very well” nowadays. So he, and Archie must be doing something right. Fans even like Ian’s work on the Megaman comics.)
 
Also, I saw some jerk bashing Sonic comic artist Ben Bates on Bates’ own DA account, saying his work was “awful,” cussing him out, and such…  
(Bates also drew for IDW TMNT, and the Pinkie Pie micro-series comic. I got to say Ben’s art is better then this li’l art critic’s.)

Actually the crossover was planed well before hand but Ian Fenn and team used it a lunching for reboot. Thou one that really gets me is that before the chances of a Sonic chronicle 2 were slim no it ant happening.(say what you will bout that game. it had a great story line)
 
As for sonic fans complaining….well that happens…a lot.
