Because random users claiming to be the artist does not get images taken down. They have to go through the proper channels to do so.
There is a very simple and straightforward process for requesting takedowns. If the artist wishes for it to be removed, they need to get a verified link, then request a takedown.
Unfortunately, we’ve had too many people try to impersonate artists, which is why we require verified links (or a verifiable public statement that they don’t want it on this site) before taking down an image.
Also, if this has seriously been bugging you for three years, you really should consider getting a hobby or something.

Holy hell, I don’t even want to think how long it took you.
Pretty darn amazing.
I just compared my version of the Wind Fish to the actual, my yellow is brighter, my bright magenta is more pink than red, my purple is somewhat brighter, my green is brighter & I’ve noticed something wrong with a bit around the middle, so it’s not exact at all & no, I didn’t copy & paste then just edit the colours, I would never do that. I’ve just got a good eye for detail & size
Protip: Check “tag changes” next to Edit Tags Or Source to see who added or changed tags and when.

To be honest, I don’t believe you really made it all from scratch, as I noted with the windfish, some are so spot on it’s really fishy.

You are vile. I appreciate the fact you believe that I drew this, which I did, but you had no right to upload this without my permission. Thanks to potentially everyone that disagrees with us, this has been deleted by deviantART. I’m mortified that over a year’s work has ended up as nothing.
