A good simple burger will blow away any overly complicated one. Lettuce and tomato to add a little bit of crunch and moisture, and to add a little bit of a sweet tang to it. Bacon for a crisp mouthfeel and a salty flavor. Cheese to add a bit of a sharp buttery flavor. Good, medium-cooked rested meat for the main flavor, and a bun to hold it all together. It’s the perfect flavor profile: no need to get overly complicated and add a ton of extra stuff, unless you need a bit of ketchup or mustard to offset the flavor profile a bit and make it go down a little more smooth :P

I still find that fact fascinating. Kinda puts those fanfics, where a human in Equestria is treated with fear at best and hostility at worst just because they’re an omnivore, in a bad light.

Heck, it’s like some fanfic writers forget that the ponies are allies with the griffons, which are part bird and big cat predator species.

Yeah, most ungulates will opportunistically snack on unlucky little birds and rodents, because there’s simply some nutrients that can’t be gotten from grass.

In real life, equines will prefer to eat meat if it’s available without too much effort and will even kick small animals to death to get it sometimes. The protein makes their coats really shiny.
