In the Sunjacker universe for Sunny Starscout and her friends would not be like a new generation, but have alternate changes in the sunless world of Equestria to have a dark and grim theme to this story.

Sunny Starscout’s story would start after her mom had died of a virus from the freezing cold and sick place that caught it from leaving Sunny with her dad. Sunny Starscout’s father Argyle Starshine started out as a professor and historian at a school teaching ponies and creatures about the old equestria before it had lost it’s sun leaving the entire world into darkness with no other way, but to make more advance technology to survive giving cities lights for ponies and creatures to live in. During his spare time with his daughter Sunny Starscout he teaches her what was old equestria like before all the grim sunless world that they live in right now. Measuring between his time of educating students and spending time with his daughter in this dark world, until he was fired from his job for mistakenly spilling out secret information about the truth of old equestria. With no job to work to support his daughter and his living in this harsh environment he’ll have no choice into making money of his living expenses he would have to resort to making and selling drugs to buy food and toys for Sunny and paying his taxes. For selling illegal drugs in his time making money while misleading his daughter in believing he still has his old job as a teacher not aware that he is drug dealing with drug addicts and criminals until drug dealing lead him down towards a dark path getting himself arrested by the police and sentenced for 10 years in prison for drug dealing which had Sunny finding out that her father had been lying about his old job as a teacher who had been fired resorting to selling drugs that broke her heart about being a father who would not have done criminal acts, in frustration she throw her picture of all the ponies and creatures living in a bright world in a sunny day in equestria in the trash which would be discovered by Izzy Moonbow as a filly a week later when Sunny left her house to live with her Grandmother Sunset Shimmer that she hardly knows, Ten years of Sunny’s depressing life without having a father to feel confident or supported, she see her dad in prison for every monthly visit while dealing with studies in highschool and street punks in the halls she avoids. In surviving hards of school Sunny hoped that her father will be sent free from prison in few days, until she heard the news in prison that her dad committed suicide in his cell which had brought Sunny more tears of depression and sadness from the time she lost her mother when she she was a filly, no her dad is gone causing her world to shatter in front of her eyes of the last patent she had is dead, until she found out something about her father’s death wasn’t a suicide, but was secretly murder by one of the convicts behind bars for her father’s missing payment with the drug lords and her father’s killer. In order for Sunny Starscout to have her justice she had to join a street gang to find leads on the dealers her father had made deals with. When she had later found the crime lord who had her father killed in prison was also another tool to keep crime maintained and for the government to assassinate her father from their plans a secret to be classified to proceed with their master plan. With Sunny’s vengeance unsuccessful she had to leave the gang she was in to join another gang called the anarchist. When Sunny joined the anarchist it took her time to understand the new system than the previous system than gang she was in to adapt to this new system and how it works in this new gang taking down the corrupted government in this new objective, later she would have a poly with the new mare named Atom Smasher in the hideout diner she gets gun down dead or sent to prison as a convict involved in the raid leaving her eyes permanently damaged from the assault.

In prison She work in the mines with no sight but feeling how dealing with working criminal and gangs would lead her on a dark path like her father had done made her realize the trouble she had caused to herself and the ones she had left behind felt worried and broken hearted for her, but her motivation that her father had taught her that there is still light in ponies and creature’s hearts no matter if the sun in gone that everyone can feel the sunshine in their hearts through dark times which made her to keep moving forward in this dark world there living in. All a sudden one of the prisoners set off a release alarm to free all the prisoners in a riot which gave Sunny a chance to escape even with no sight to leave this prison mining camp. After her escape with no money to buy her food until she is taken in by a cybernetic implanter to replacing her permanently damaged eyes with cybernetic eyes along with some cybernetic limbs to aid her and to continue as a rebel anarchist survivor and a criminal/dealer to commit notorious crimes in her life in having hope to getting back at the corrupted government.

During Sunny’s crime spree in the city noticeably recognize as the most wanted criminal in New Canterlot and Megacity on the police’s most wanted list, but when she got into trouble with some criminal triads in the underworld a civilian named Izzy Moonbow somehow got caught in the crossfire while Sunny was confronting a crime gang, Izzy joined Sunny on her side to become an accomplice and an aid to helping her out because she saw in her that her life was a very sad, depressing and tedious that she needs somepony to help find her spark from inside her heart.

Later Zip Storm would join Sunny’s gang due to being recognize as a famous racer in both the sky and on fast vehicles and being a part time detective knowing she had found out about the detective agency is corrupted as the sky guard police in the city which had given her the courage to quit and not be apart of the messed up system.

Zipp’s little sister Pipp Petals will join later on when her financial’s are in trouble which had her and her mother Haven go bankrupt with no other option but to join Sunny’s gang probably be a distraction for the police or guards while Sunny will be going on heists.

Hitch on the other hand will still continue his investigation on his old friend Sunny starscout that he would apprehend her for arrest, but also help her on her problem on why she continues to commit crimes while still an anarchist, but later he would consider quitting his job resigning from the police force to find Sunny and to get closer to her not as a police officer but as an old friend that he has feelings towards her.

For Misty Brightdawn in the Sunjackers universe she wouldn’t be with Queen Opaline in this sunless world of equestria because the three pony races had never separated, they’re still together with each other and non-pony races in different places across many regions. Now where would Misty fit well she’ll start out as a filly when her father Alphabittle tries to support his daughter while trying to move on from the loss of his wife who had died in a car accident in the darkness of the sunless world, In order to make money from a poor bankrupt situation he started to do gambling to make money for food and electricity to survive, but that got him busted for cheating during matches and sentence him to prison for five years leaving Misty with paid foster parents who are unstable and unfit parents that lead her to running away from home surviving out in the streets for food and not wanting to return home. Witnessing the dark reality that Misty wandered in the streets she ask a random street gang if they would provide her any food and a place to stay, the gang allowed her in to stay but wanted her to do criminal acts to earn their trust of worthiness to be a part of their gang. In the years of her foalhood of Misty’s loyalty towards the gang she’s been staying learning how to use computers to hack into files and ATM machines to get the money for herself and the gang, but didn’t realize the gang that she thought were her family ended up betraying her and leaving her for dead. For having been abandoned by the gang she had been with for half her life now along until Sunny Starscout and her gang found her abandon that she took her in as a new friend and new accomplice with her hacking skills which will be useful for the team to collect new resources from the government.

 As for Sprout Cloverleaf he’ll be an antagonist who will be the most recognized police officer as the most great enforcer of the law of the city who will do everything to clear the streets of every criminal and gang member for the law of the city he enforces and will do anything to arrest Sunny Starcout and her entire gang. 

I hope you like my idea and thoughts for the G5 characters in this Sunjackers universe of Seek your star which would like it might fit well for Sunny and her friends from celebrities to outlaws in this sunless world as rebellious criminals.

If this ever gets turned into a full series… this might just be a passing thought, but here goes.

Putting g5 into the Sunjackers world, I can see the following:

Sunny is a rebel and an anarchist less so because of some higher ideal or an idea of a better tomorrow and more because rebellion is all she has left. Lost her mother, lost her father, lost her little commune and the only thing that drives her is spite towards the wealthy and the ruling class. Grew up learning about Equestria of old from her dear old dad, was enamored by it, but those ideals quickly fell into the water once reality kicked in and life kept taking one thing after another from her.

Opposite to her, Hitch would most obviously be a police officer - poster boy of his precinct, the one they bring out to photo shoots and PR campaigns to raise their publicity and funds. Despite the nature of his work, he still tries to be the ‘one of the good ones’, trying to be a friendly face for everyone, regardless of class and status in society. You can be some rich asswipe or a bum in the local ghetto and he’ll still try and be nice to you. But, most importantly, he uses all his connections to try and find Sunny - he still sees her as a childhood friend and wants to help her. That, and, in his words - others would mount her head on the wall, he at least wants to give her a chance.

I can also see his precinct being funded by a private defense contractor ran by Phyllis, hence why they hired Sprout. Our favorite racist gay baby was paired up with Hitch, because they knew one another, to stop Sprout from doing anything stupid and to hinder Hitch’s investigations on Sunny.

Izzy I can see coming from a ghetto. They came into the megacity in question through the frostlands and are an odd bunch held back by familial bonds and a hastily formed tradition. She has her job and she does well to put on a happy, cheerful and sometimes blindly smiling in face of the badness of the everyday. Alone, she comes back home, cries and always reminisces on that one drawing she found in the trash that she could just tell was made with lots of love - the one Sunny threw in the trash and that became the core of what keeps Izzy going. She always wanted to find who made it to give them the biggest hug ever.

Haven would be a queen of media, a movie star with lots of reputation and prestige and her daughters would each make their own mark. While Pipp would be the mass media influencer that we know and love, Zipp, as depicted here, would be a racer. Maybe flying or fast cars or motorbikes, really doesn’t matter - just someone who loves fast moving vehicles and got famous because of it. Granted, fame didn’t sit well for her. She wanted to drive fast because it made her happy and free, but, with the whole ‘self-driving vehicles only’ law in effect in the Sunjackers world, the only place she could go fast under her control, legally, would be in some sports arena. Granted, even that was limiting, mainly because she depended on sponsors, and some of said sponsors wanted her to lose on purpose. She couldn’t outright refuse, so she decided to dig some dirt on them - become the detective we know. I can imagine she found plenty of bad things that made all those money grabbers shut up to the mention, but, the more she dug, the more she uncovered a rather intricate web of lies that she’s getting all too tangled into.

As for what went wrong to get all of them together?

Sunny got into trouble and got Izzy in the crossfire. With the whole mess going on, Izzy actually jumped to Sunny’s aid because her life was dull and monotonous and this was the first time she actually felt alive. Zipp, on her excursions in the city’s underground, wound up running into the pair. Maybe there would be some family feud or financial trouble that would force Pipp and Haven on the run, too… all the while Sunny gets reminded that there is still hope for a better tomorrow, if not for society, then for the few good people that troubled themselves into your life.

I have adored Captainhoers art style since I saw Spitfire comics. How it grew and became such distinct and wonderful thing was beautiful to watch. And can’t wait to what is more in store.

God Sunjackers is so good. Never stop drawing.

OK, I wanted to see this ever since I got to reading the Sunjackers comic and saw the g5 cameos, so HOLY SHIT!

Now the million pegadollar question remains: who would Misty and Opaline be in the world of a sunless Equestria?
