They’d be a little more aggressive about it. Sonata follows “wise man in the middle of nowhere” rules where you just have to get to her to receive wisdom, while her friends would demand some kind of payment as well XD

It’s fairly common. I recall picking them out of a few as a kid until I realized they weren’t nuts. I was ok with them after, not worth the energy picking out but definitely preferred them plain.

Now that I think about it, been a long time since I’ve seen raisins on a cinnamon roll.

For me, cinnamon rolls are so sweet without them, that adding more sweetness is overkill. You already have the sugar, the caramely brown sugar, and the cinnamon, AND the powdered sugar and vanilla frosting, all competing for flavors, so adding raisins and their fruity sweetness is like adding little overly sugary landmines that overwhelm the flavor. It makes it so sweet it almost becomes sour. I like raisins in bread and oatmeal cookies since they’re not very sweet on their own so the raisins add that nice little flavor to them, and cinnamon rolls that were made sugar-free (or, at least with only as much sugar as the yeast needs), that had raisins and no icing would probably be nice :D

Raisins in cinnamon rolls is like pineapple on pizza. You lose a bit of your soul, but it’s sooooo worth it. Sorry Sonata.

I’ll just hop into the conversation,
As a kid I initially despised raisins, I believed it was a crime against humanity, I hated how much it ruined the relaxing and reliable consistency of a good pastry and I couldn’t comprehend what chronic and sustained dreams of cruelty were in the heads of the people putting them everywhere.

And to some degree I still do, but I took it as a sign of maturing when I once picked out raisins out of a pastry and then I actually wanted to put them back since it was too dry.

But that’s wrong.

Even if it’s controversial, I like Sonata too much to Downvote. (Plus the art is good, it’s Badumsquish)

But raisins absolutely belong in sweet pastries. They were of the original sweetener back when table sugar was extremely expensive for common people.

As long as they get baked in with enough added moisture, they can absorb a lot of good flavors.

Staying too dry is the real killer with raisins.

I don’t like raisins in anything, but the least objectionable format is chopping them up for bread.
Same taste, same setup, less “Was there a large squishy bug in this cinnamon bread for some reason”.
