There’s nothing wrong with being a realist. Except when said “realist” idealizes his new pony-filled world while demonizing his former human world as much as possible.
It’s misanthropy.
Call it whatever you want. Idealists and realists rarely see eye-to-eye.
You havent read the story, have you?
It is flat out misanthropy. If he just had criticisms about our species, that’d be one thing.
But he actively craps all over humanity when he gets started and never brings up any sort of real positive quality.
Hell, hes pretty much actively sabotaging the very cause he was summoned to do. And if his Nightmare Moon sequel is of any indication, he becomes the ONLY human to come back, making him the one ‘good’ human, ever.
You mean Somewhere I Belong and Living the Dream? Yeah, those suck.
It’s a shame some people mistake misanthropy as criticism/legitimate grievances towards mankind instead of flat-out hatred.
It’s been a while since I read this story. There could have been some real potential, but the human guy and all the misanthropy got me to stop it.
Here’s a fundamental question: If you are looking for a human to start rebuiling the bridges between humanity and Equestria, why the fck would you pick such an ungrateful sht who not only lacks any real ties to humanity, but actively sets out to make them all look like complete bastards?
That badly written Marty-Stu story without a real essence to it except for self-insert wish fulfillment?
Unless you’ve read The Lost Element, you won’t understand the concept behind this picture.
