Alas, the Curse of the Worf Effect. Celestia is set up as a powerful being and thus whenever someone wants to show how powerful their villain is, guess who’s first in line for a beating?
Well, can you really blame me? This comic takes forever to update, and it’s another story where Celestia gets her ass kicked and turned into a mindslave. Keep in mind that Celestia is my favorite character, so this is really unconfortable to me.
I’d just like to see Celestia confront a villain and win for once, instead of being used as a tool to make the villain look intimidating.

Thank you for your critique, I’m honestly trying my best to get this out fast. As it is I’m speeding up the scenes and dialogue as much as I can without making this whole thing seem very rushed…
Folks on derpibooru tend to be blunt. Sometimes the criticism is justified, sometimes it’s just an attempt at schadenfreude.
The challenge is to ignore the nonconstructive comments while recognizing the legitimate points. People have questions about controlling the sun and this “hive mind”, so that’s something to focus upon in upcoming comics. I’d love to see a visual representation of the Changeling consciousness trying to swallow Celestia.
Me, I’ve been enjoying this comic since the first. A lot has happened. The mane 6 are crippled, Celestia is finally changed, Cadance is… Well, I’m curious to see how she ended up way out there.
Point is, I urge you to keep going and know that there are a lot of people who are really enjoying this, and that enjoyment can take the form of constructive criticism.
Also, semi-canonically there is no such thing as a Changeling Hive Mind.
To be clearer: in the IDW comic she tries to “overcharge” Twilight Sparkle so that she can sponge up her power and take out Celestia. Surprise surprise, Chrissy: overcharging your worst enemy to WAY above your own level is a BAD idea. In the episode, she puts Cadance next to Shining Armor… the very same freakin’ battery that she used to take out Celestia, and then she has the gall to appear surprised when said decision comes out to bite her in the butt (i.e. Cadance literally CUTS OFF her power source, bringing her down from “Celestia-class menace” to “big ugly bug-pony”).
For the second bit, in the comic Chrysalis has to use couriers and a crystal ball to check around, instead of just “tapping” other changelings. I.E. she actually needs to TALK. No telepathy, no hive mind, nothing. The fact that she looks like a bug doesn’t mean a thing, no more than Celestia looking like an elegant coatrack would make her an actual coatrack.
It’s not that anyone hates it, we’re just… waiting for something to happen. Celestia gets turned into a bug and apparently becomes Chrysalis’s pet/slave/unwilling concubine or something, because that’s how changelings roll. And so far… that’s it. You’re almost drawing it out a little too much, this one scene has lasted for months.
No real right way to remedy that, so I’ll withhold judgement as always until the end. But I can’t say I’m gripping the edge of my seat right now. It’s like watching a spectacular car wreck in slow motion… and then the slow motion scene lasts for like ten minutes and by the time the scene is over you’ve grown bored with the entire premise.

I honestly appreciate it. I’ve been getting a lot of crap lately from people who don’t like this comic and I’m really glad some people are willing to help.
“Can’t Celestia just shape-shift into her ponyself?” you may ask.
No.
She doesn’t know how, and Chrysalis isn’t going to teach her for obvious reasons.
For example, if you suddenly grew wings, would you be able to fly? I highly doubt it. Ignoring the way Twilight flew at the end of season three.
_Celestia will have to learn how to be able to shape-shift before she could change into herself. Plus, I don’t think even Chrysalis could pull off her etheral mane.
“But what about the sun? Won’t it go out of control? Who will control it if Celestia can’t?”
You may think you’ve ‘torn this fic apart’ by asking that, but I’m not that unaware to not have an explanation.
I have a reason for this, and it will be answered in coming pages. Basically, just be patient. :)
Well that’s because she’s arrogant to a fault, even more so than most villains. Her plan and the opportunity were both flawless, it was her stupidity that led to her defeat. She botched pretty much every aspect of her otherwise good plan and had no real clue what she was doing.
So at least she’s being portrayed accurately here. There is absolutely no way this will pay off for her in the long term, because she just gave Celestia her powers, leveling the playing field. Once Celestia “earns” back her original powers, she is going to buttfuck Chrysalis with her horn.
To be fair, Chrysalis came across as a bit of a dumbass in the episode itself. She wastes a perfect disguise with paper thin acting, and threw Twilight in with Cadence when just letting her runaway, completely discredited, would have served her plan better.
Is it wrong to defend something I like? Changeling Celestia is something that’s been explored like a few times in fanart/fanfiction. If you find a story about it, it’s mediocre or downright terrible. So far the artist has done well with the story. I’m not saying this is a perfect tale, but it’s better than what I’ve seen.
