This dilemma probably makes more sense if you’ve already seen the episode taking center stage right now and you have an idea of what’s coming. If you don’t, and in fact know nothing about the show… then frankly I’m kind of flattered and humble and grateful that you’ve read so far into this webcomic.

SFX: (BZZZ)
Shining Armor: Is that your phone?
Princess Cadance: Sure is. Looks like it’s from… your sister’s DM. Asking if Shining and Cadance can cameo as NPCs in tonight’s session.
Shining Armor: I mean… yeah? We’re kind of sharing a campaign setting now. I thought that was already fair game.
Princess Cadance: I’m not sure what the big deal is either.
Shining Armor: Can you ask?
SFX: (BZZZ)
Princess Cadance: I think context is incoming. … Oh! The question is whether we’re okay with taking a dive and losing badly as NPCs. Tonight’s the Discord finale, and we might end up jobbing for the villain’s forces.
Shining Armor: Ah, okay. So we’re probably gonna get Worf’d. Gotcha. How long will we be canonically out of commission?
Princess Cadance: Looks like a session or two at most.
Shining Armor: Then yeah! I’ve got no problems with that.
Princess Cadance: Sounds good.
Shining Armor: Ooh! Ask them if we can do the same to THEIR party in OUR game!
Princess Cadance: They’ve got a lot on their plate tonight. Maybe later.
