Yeah, I guess I am. I don’t really have hope or expectations for the world or my life. And while I admire Bruce’s determination, I actually don’t agree with his method. I, just like a lot of his peers and enemies, believe criminals deserve to be killed, especially the Joker. I actually believe Gotham is beyond saving and to really save it, some people will have to die. I mean just look at how many innocent people die because Bruce can’t control his mental state. Really Batman refuses to kill because he knows he is just as unstable as the people he fights, instead of some moral righteous justice. Batman may be awesome, but he is not always right.
Nope, you definitely are just too cynical, real world is troubled but you are too cynical indeed, and in other incarnation Gotham while infested with crime also showcase that there’s a lot of good people who wants to make things better, making it more reasonable that Batman would want to save Gotham. In Joker, the city is just flat out grim with no lights whatsoever, it really just seems Bruce would be better off moving from there. If something it’s too grim, then I just let rot and never look back, just build from what gives a reason instead.
That’s Gotham for ya, and honestly the real word too. I guess I’m just cynical enough to enjoy Joker. :P
Meh, too bleak so I stopped caring for everyone.
Honestly I agree to an extent. I didn’t really care for all the sad stuff and what the media had done to make the movie something massive. I only got excited around the moments when he started really acting like Joker, killing people, showing it off on TV, and enjoying them. I fell in love with Phoenix’s performance then. Plus there is also that genius way of erasing Joker’s name and making him the mysterious John Doe we all know. I like it better when Joker doesn’t have a real name. And I think the bleakness is supposed to be like that. Gotham has always been a pretty terrible place, and Joker really does show that aspect well.
Nahh, Phoenix felt like a sad story full of moments when the pity just become painfully unentertaining. If other Jokers can be compared to Twilight, Pinkie or Discord, Phoenix’s Joker is more like Marble or Wallflower Blush. Bleh.
And the whole world of the movie is so bleak in the end I stopped caring about what happens.
No one likes Leto’s version, but I did like Phoenix’s version, especially near the end with the talk show where he speaks into the camera. That’s the most Joker like moment to me.
Depends on the incarnation. I didn’t like Phoenix or Leto’s for example.
I agree, but Joker is a cool villain.
Dumb overused meme.
