no thoughts. only school and self indulgent twidash au
so…. back in 2018 i was like, super obsessed with tangled, esp the series. i still um…. kinda am…. but i had this idea at the time for a tangled au with twidash. it didnt happen, so im making it happen now.
some of my rough notes:
- So in this au, Celestia would be Twilight’s birth mother. Like in the movie, she grows ill during pregnancy. It didn’t seem like she would make it, so the kingdom went out in search of the fabled elements of harmony (replacing the sundrop flower). They find it, use it to cast a spell, save the queen, magical little Twilight is born etc etc.
-Originally I had Chrysalis be Mother Gothel. I think I’m keeping this, just reworking it a little. but she was using the elements as a source of love, and a means of keeping up her pony form after being cast out from her hive - her pony form would be in the form of Velvet. “Mother Knows Best” is such a my au velvet song do not @ me. i really wanted to do an animatic for the reprise, especially
-So of course, “Velvet” steals Twilight, and raises her as her own, hoping to keep her to herself to help maintain her form.

Twilight is kept in the tower, her only friend being little Spike, a baby dragon (?) that finds his way inside (he is still a baby dragon, but i gave him the chameleon tail because oh my god look at him. baby)

When Twilight does her healing-hair-magic, i like to think it glows, and the yellow streak appears in her hair :]
-It’s eventually cut off in the final battle by RD, which in turn causes her to lose her healing powers, but instead gains back her princesshood (wings)
-Rainbow is a scrappy/sneaky thief. She dreamed for years of becoming a member of the royal guard, however was orphaned at a young age and became an outcast to the world - But of course, her life is turned on her head when she stumbles on Twilight’s tower.
-Also she gets the Eugene haircut because my god that is the. THE masc lesbian hair cut ever.
