Description

Office worker Moondancer! I figure she’s a software developer at Celestia’s company, but Celestia always goes to her to fix mundane IT issues. Celestia hasn’t really kept up with technology over her thousand years of running the company.

I’ve often joked about getting a job tech support solely for the stories I’d get from it.

I worked for a couple of years as a tech support agent for a big ISP (Yacom, later Orange Spain). And trust me, you don’t want to. It is soul-rending. The stories are not worth it. And, oh boy, do I have a story or two 😆

There are two types of tech illiterate people in the world.
The first type is the kind that are only clueless with technology but are willing to learn and know they don’t know much. These people are can be a little annoying to constantly deal with, but if they’re nice and willing to put in genuine effort, they can be a delight to talk to and teach things to. I’ve taken to calling these people “Catherines”.
Then there are the types that are dismissive or distrustful of technology or just plain refuse to learn, often with an attitude and a “it should just do what I want it to do” mentality. It’s never their fault, always the tech guy/retail associate/ISP employee/family member/neighbor’s dog/father’s brother’s uncle’s cousin’s former roommate that the “wee-fee” isn’t working or that their computer is full of malware again literally the day after they ask you to clean it because they refuse to heed your advice about staying off those shady websites or clicking those ads. I call these people “Karens” and if nothing else, they make fun r/talesfromtechsupport material.
I’ve often joked about getting a job tech support solely for the stories I’d get from it. I always tell people “no matter how tech illiterate you are, be glad you’ve never used a mouse as a foot pedal, unless you have in which case I don’t think I can save you.”

Of course. Sabrina was one of my biggest influences growing up.
Though I’ve never touched an Amiga. I wonder how Sabrina and RC and Moondancer like the Steam Deck.
