That’s what I was thinking as well. Assuming that Spike’s siblings were named by their parents and Spike was a pony-chosen name, it makes sense that his name doesn’t really go with theirs. It adds to the feeling that he’s different from his siblings, even though they resemble each other appearance-wise.

Aye, well, I used to watch that when I was younger. One of my favorite shows back then. Was in fact the first thing that came to mind when I saw those names.
As for the name, ‘Flicker and Flame’ rolls of the tongue a bit better than ‘Blaze and Flame’, I’d say.
It would be nice to see a dragon other than Spike in the show, who wasn’t a douchebag, though. :)
