Eh? I’d rather them pick colors their comfortable with that work than go nuts trying to pick colors all over the spectrum in the hope of being completely original. It’s not like coat-color makes the mare. (It’s not like every artist has strong color theory chops, either.)

I can’t get why people think making ponies with purely human color schemes (skin-color coat, human hair color mane/tail, human-typical eye color) is a great, original idea. I get that it’s far easier than trying to match non-human colors together in a pleasing manner, and that it winds up looking not too bad, but come on people.
 
You have access to literally all of the colors in the rainbow, including the actual rainbow itself, and you just apply human coloration and call it a day? That’s as boring as it can possibly can get. Hell, it even seems a bit lazy to me in all honesty, like the creator of the OC/mascot couldn’t be bothered to make an appealing, fitting and unique color scheme for their character before foisting their half-baked OC onto the world.
 
This right here is why I hate other similar OCs like Backy (purely aryan color scheme), since they seem like barely-finished OCs whose creators couldn’t be bothered to care about their own creations.
