What really happens is that the story-maker proves a successful ‘sub-creator’. He makes a Secondary World which your mind can enter. Inside it, what he relates is ‘true’: it accords with the laws of that world. You therefore believe it, while you are, as it were, inside. The moment disbelief arises, the spell is broken; the magic, or rather art, has failed. You are then out in the Primary World again, looking at the little abortive Secondary World from outside.

The whole movie had a odd lack of pony attire. Now of course Ponies don’t USALLY wear clothes…but beyond hats and glasses, Armor, crowns and cloaks, the occasional work vest and tie…there was little presence of fancy clothes anywhere. Its not too big an issue of course, society is more isolated and insular than the old world…but even the Pegasus nobility attending the Royal Jubilee notably lacked any real clothing. It would be the one place where you think the ponies would go all out. Guess it would be difficult to render so many clothes for just one scene.
That’s the way that the staff should HAVE added in the film: Hitch and Sprout wearing sheriff clothes since they are both sheriffs while trying to arrest Izzy Moonbow for scaring the entire earth ponies in Maretime Bay.
