We’ve all thought about what we could become, but have you ever confronted everything you could never become?
 
I don’t remember exactly what themes I was imagining when I wrote “The Splitting Image” over three years ago. Upon rereading it in my unpublished story folder, those were some of the thoughts that came to me: we have only so much time on this planet to become who we are. There are so many things we will never be.
