Headcanon: Rainbow Dash and Zephyr Breeze did, eventually, hook up and marry. It took Zephyr years to become responsible and confident enough to propose. Fortunately for him, it also took Rainbow Dash years to become responsible and confident enough to accept.

It was a September-September wedding, and all of Ponyville and Cloudsdale breathed a sigh of relief when they finally tied the knot.
