Of course Eiichiro Oda is pretty much killing himself to give us One Piece. It’s gotten to the point where WSJ pretty much forces him to take breaks so he doesn’t kill himself through exhaustion.

I know few individuals here dislike One Piece… About the storyline, the characters, the length, the odd human figures…

However, if you can draw something that you love, and keep up with it for over FIFTHTEEN years without assisting other artists to do the work (aka Todd MacFarlane) and continue to sell successfully and have millions of readers AND have creative input on the movies and television adaptions; then those complaints become less important.

I admire BOTH Lauren Faust and Echiiro Oda, for their creativity and imagination, and I did this fan art in appreciation of both their characters; noting the similar characteristics their share. And seeing Oda being a master copic marker user is something I strive more on as a traditional artist as well as a digital one.

I never caught on to One Piece nor MLP, for that matter, from the first time I saw it, but after a while I give both a second and third chance (even purchasing the Color Walk artbooks of Oda) and loved both. And the artwork I draw is a reflection of that, if the naysayers can’t handle that, there is always the back button.

Wow that coloring is AMAZING! Oh those copics abillities are just wonderful, and the style, OH GOD THAT STYLE!

Keep up the great work! I think also Oda should see this, it’s just that great!
