Ehh, it’s better practice to get a good player to watch/listen to nearly all compatible media. Nothing against you if you don’t use it for much and never have an issue with your usecase. But it’s better to be prepared for the situation. I know what you mean for the visualizations. I miss that from the older Win Media player versions.

Another video file has been added with H264 codec, along with its original H265 codec mp4
Do keep in mind, due to limitations of Clip Studio, H264 encoded mp4 will be at 1080p

i just used Handbrake to convert it to H264 and replaced the original.
It seems that “nonnny Twilight Sparkle and Izzy Moonbow 04 - full animation video.mp4” was encoded with H265.
Other videos were encoded with older H264 codec.
You can’t expect Windows and it’s default programs to support the newer standards, so this is probably the reason why HDPlayer had trouble playing the video with it.
For HDPlayer I recommend installing K-Lite Codec Pack, which Sanagi mentioned below. It has tons of additional codecs and usually solves such issues. I used to use it all the time and it worked for me.

and i don’t know a single person that has VLC or similar Video players on their PC because 99.9% of video files they would ever watch work fine in the default player, which includes myself, this was the first time i was not able to watch a video on Media Player/Win10 Player.
i know it’s not difficult to install VLC or similar but i’m just confused why it’s even it was made required when the other video files work with the default video player.

Why not combine the easiness of VLC setup, MPC, and codec into one instalation?
K-Lite Codec has that thing you’ll need.
Download the CCCP. It has every codec you could need.
I don’t know a single person that hasn’t downloaded VLC/MPC/Literally anything else at some point to play video files.
I don’t think it’s a high expectation to have

i mostly use it for music anyways, because of the visualizations.
though even Windows 10’s modern built-in video player has problems with that specific file.
and you can’t really expect people to go out of their way to download and install an extra video player just to look at some porn.

Windows Media Player is kind of shit, you might consider downloading something else.
I’d recommend one of the following:
VLC (easier to set up than MPC) https://www.videolan.org/
MPC (better than VLC) https://github.com/clsid2/mpc-hc
If you get MPC you’ll also want codecs: https://codecguide.com/download_kl.htm

yes, the exact file is “Nonnny Twilight Sparkle And Izzy Moonbow 04 - Full Animation Video.mp4”
the video just seems to be encoding with something that is not supported by default on windows.
